@shoonyayn Well simple , its cos we are lacking players like that guy/

Bird didn't lack athleticism - he severely injured his back and probably shouldn't been playing his last few years.
-
i saw video of jordan saying that bird is the most fundamentally sound player to ever play the game.

no body ever played the game as good as Larry Bird no body, he simply was amazing.

I would much rather have an 86 Larry Bird on my team than any version of jordan. If I had a choice to choose from the two.....bird all day. Jordan may have more rings but you get this sense that bird was a greater winner. Also we will never know how much greater Bird could of been due to his back injury in 88. Skys the limit what he could of accomplished. Bird wasnt the same after that back injury he had shoveling rocks or something like that at his mothers home

C'mon with not being light years ahead. Bird was a smart defender, Jordan is an all time defender! big difference and too me awards mean crap. Ben Wallace has 4 Def Player of the Year awards. Hakeem 2, Pippen none! what a joke.
Even though height plays a big role and Birds got 3-4 inches on him he still gets the nod rebounding and passing.
Bird is the only great passer that doesn't need to dribble all day to create for his teammates.

Yeah, but Bird was a better passer, as a forward, and a much better rebounder. And while Jordan was definitely a better defensive player, he was not "light years ahead". Bird had one of the highest steals per game average for a forward in NBA history. Bird also made NBA All-Defensive Second Team several times. And yes, I know Jordan made the first team many times.
I do agree that Jordan was the better player. Their playing styles were not even remotely the same though.
