Footage of a dusty, landspout tornado near Groom, Texas on Interstate 40. A semi-truck drives right through it. This tornado is weak, that's why the truck wasn't flipped or anything.

  • Sky is tornado color: greeny yellow. Once you've seen it, you'll never forget it. First time I saw it was on April 4, 1973, during the Super Outbreak. Clouds from Xenia, Ohio came over our town, and the lighting was all wrong...excellent capture, five stars. I see skies that color, I'm not venturing out!

  • You're from Xenia?

  • I love these old tornado videos.

    Thanks for posting.

  • That was cool.

  • I am curious as to when this happened. I live in Groom and don't remember this. By the way..this wasn't an actual tornado. These are called Dustnadoes. They are formed simular to a tornado but don't pack quite as bad a punch! Smaller versions are also called Dust Devils.

  • Wow, I knew they had a certain color though I have not actually witness a land tornado yet. It did take form rather quickly too.

  • No, I was 3 1/2 - 4 hours northeast of Xenia - Mansfield, Ohio. Now I live in "The Alley" (and no beeping basements LOL).
