If you are against smoking.....don't hang out in pro smoking places. It's not that hard. There are PLENTY of both smoking and non smoking establishments without enacting a ban that eliminates choice and freedom in order to make one side happy. A bar is the LAST place I'd go if I wanted to avoid smoke. Banning smoking in bars is fucking retarded. It is like banning "loud noise" at a rock concert. Or grease at McDonald's.

With all respect to Devan, I don't really get your priorities. On the one hand, you admit you've been to smoky bars, in spite of the "hazard" to your health and nasty smell.
Basically, then, you're telling me peer-pressure, a need to socialize and/or the compunction to drink were stronger than your desire to be healthy? :-\
Why didn't do you as I and simply _avoid the smoky bar_?

I completely agree with Devan, sometimes you can't tell if somebody smoked or were just around people who smoke because the smell of cigarette is very strong.
