  • Hi i got a problem that i dont understand i have made usses and added computers, plus all usses are members of my domaine, But the thing is that i dont know how the usses will connect to the server when using a other computer on my local network, sorry for my english im Norwaygian.

  • Are all computers joined to the domain? All users on the domain should be able to log into all computers on the domain (Except possibly servers) unless you have said that they can't. Their documents may not follow them but their passwords should. That is because all authentication on a domain is handled by the domain controller. You sit at a computer, but you log into the server.

  • Great how did you log on to the PC? I created a PC in Windows Server 2008, but how do you initiate the possibility to log on to the PC you created? My 70-640 book never explains that and I'm stuck, hoping you can help.

  • Thank you for having a clear and understandable voice. (Even if it does have that Southern twaaaang ;)

  • This question is to (technoblogical) Can you please tell us all the actual purpose of adding a active directory computer to the domain? What is its purpose or purposes? I understand the concept of adding users where the users are put in an organizational unit so that we can add GPOs and have better security and control etc. But how does adding a computer fit in with all this GPO, delegation, roles etc? Can it have a role on a domain?

  • Nevermind watched your other video that answered my question.

I wasnt aware that when you were discussing the policy you were stating it pertaining to the OU rather than the actual computer itself. Which makes sense now.

  • Or was that windows 7 computer a pre-existing manual addition like with the marvin one you demonstrated?

  • Im not understanding something about this video.

You stated that there is no group policy on a computer that is added to the domain with the default method. Then you add a computer manually which also doesnt have a group policy on it. Then you right clicked the pre-existing computer and it had the member of tab which you can apply the group policy to.

So Im confused as to exactly what the difference here is other then I can change the OU of where the computer is being placed.
