Back and Neck Pain in a Dog

Many dogs can have painful backs and necks just like you and me. Dogs with a painful neck will hold their head down, not want to move the neck and sometimes limp. Dogs with a sore back will not want to jump up on the couch, bed , or car seat. If a dog is really painful,incoordinated, staggering, or painful, they should be checked out.

MY 12 year old doxie is having the same symptoms with bad muscel spasms. The vet gave her a shot and predisone for a week. The spasms are coming closer and seem more sever to me. Tink also has a heart mummer I am worried the spasms are from her heart. Could it just be the neck injury . Taking her back to the vet in the am . thanks for any advice that can get me to 8am. :(

@carlsmithey Hope he is better, I was going to advise aspirin to help with the pain.Probably the same old neck injury acting up. The inter vertebral discs in doxies just don't wear well

I appreciate this video. It helps shine additional light on the recent back pain one of our pack was suffering and the fact that dogs can and do experience neck and back pain discomforts just like us humans. Skully is back to his old spunky self and we owe that in part to you. Thanks again for everything. As a footnote, well, i have the same exact expression on my face as Stryker when i show up at my chiropractor's office every now and again. =)
