  • I LOVE LAUREN MITCHELL

the only thing negative i have to say about the routine is a) the mount had a bit of hardness too it and could have been executed more gracefully or choreographed better to fit the rest of the routine and b) when she gets low to the beam before the turn, i think it should be choreagraphed so she dancing to the beam not just bending down. i love the tumbling, the dismount, everything is wonderful besides those few points. GO LAUREN!!!!!!

  • I think most of us know. It's just that nobody does it now, so it becomes original for lauren.

  • i Have broad legs as well as lauren i can do her spin and a front flip on the beam and just to let u no i am only level 2i

  • @LMA629 That's what I meant, the acrobatic series and the spin I named have been done so many times in comparison to Mitchell's spin and her aerial-front tuck (which is now aerial-switch leap-front tuck)

  • @ChainChomp2 if by 90 degree single spin you mean a spin with the leg held at hip level, it was actually done a lot at the 2008 Beijing games.

  • I have broaud legs same as lauren mitchell and what is really funny she was my coach last year and may be returning this year but the broaud legs can be very hard to do beam in so well done i hope you will come back to coach me p.s i am level 7

  • Compared to Deng Linlin this was just so much more fluid and smooth. Aside from the big step on the landing, great job!

  • Should have won.

  • I wish this had won, I feel her execution was better than Deng Linlin's (it seemed as if, even though she had fantastic difficulty, Deng had a little wobble on each skill). I wish there were a way for a gymnast to be rewarded more for originality.

Hopefully Lauren will be healthy and take the title this year!

  • @pappysprite I never meant she had performed it but the part that no one has done the skill in a long time and/or that it's an uncommon element makes it unusual, like how many might find the Comaneci salto on bars unusual, yet they know it was done decades ago, they still call it unusual because barely anyone does it in contrast to the people who do skills like Tkatchevs.

  • No offense, but I don't understand your point at all. Many believe she created that move and the only point I was making is that others have performed it.

  • Yes but 2004 was the last time that spin was done before Lauren Mitchell wasn't it, the fact that most people don't know the last time someone did this skill (Terin should have the triple named after her) makes it unusual :D. How many times has a aerial-back handspring-split layout been performed? Or a 90 degree single spin :P?
