@othfangirl When they were making Lucas's book a movie they kind of commented on the character. Lucas said he refused to write Dan as a conflicted character to give depth to the story of the murder and make for an interesting sub plotline about redemption & forgiveness. LOL

It's funny how I've always wanted to hate Dan's character, but have never been able to do so. No matter what he does that makes me want to hate him, I can't because then he does or says something that makes me absolutely love his character.
