People talk about how Jesus has blessed them but don't think how that can sound so very rude and arrogant. I visited a family member who has Alzheimers and lives in a nursing home specifically for Alzheimer patients. While there some Christians came in to play music. One said she had been blessed so much from Jesus if you need anything all you have to do is pray to Jesus and he'll provide. Does she not think how families of these patients haven't prayed? And how did her Jesus bless these victims of Alzeimers?

  • that's a hell of a thing to say, you've got family members dealing with their loved ones whose minds are being eaten by this horrible disease and you're talking about how thankful you are for all the blessings that Jesus has given you, erm FUCK YOU

  • Proselytizing in an Alzheimer's ward.

Arrogance and stupidity are an unpleasant combination.

  • I'm sorry to hear about your family member that has severe Alzeimers, it truely is a cruel disease, as my grandparents suffered through it as well. It really takes a lot out of the family that has to endure, watching their love one change into a person they don't even relate to anymore. Also I use to go to a home like this for the elderly, and play the piano, and visit. What's really sad as well, as some of these people only see (church groups) because their family don't visit them anymore!

  • Sorry to hear about your family member. I have one that is in the early-mid stages I hate to think about what she'll be like when it has advanced. One thought that occurred to me while listening was how many of those people with Alzheimers where strong believers in Jesus. Of course they'd say he works in mysterious ways.

  • wow, I would have said shit, but I am a militant Atheist anyway....lol

  • Great observation.

I think this is directly associated 2 the fact that the typical psychotic faithful christian is used 2 not using the organ between their ears, that it just turns into a reaction/reflection, a bodily response fueled w absurd and unrealistic (fantasy land) beliefs.

Religion (and all its tools: sin, faith, guilt, after-life, etc) makes the people infected with it . do many, many senseless & hypocritical things without much logic or thought process behind their actions or words.
