@BobHogan my thoughts entirely completely out of touch lets hope he comes to a sticky end brought by his victorian views . ageneral strike on the way i think so
most people in this country are to selfish to stop and ask "WHY are ORDINARY HUMAN BEINGS STRIKEING" oh yea due to a stupid tory government, they never strike like this under labour do they.
Unions need to be treated like children. They don't know what reason is. The harm they cause to the economy is significant, while they themselves are protesting against the economic policy.
What democracy is this?Behave yourselves Unions or suffer the consequences...
Hang on a minute was it not the sharks and spivs, (Mr Cable's own reference) in the city that caused this financial collapse and left the economy in tatters and left every descent working person picking up the tab.How come your not addressing business leaders too and ratcheting up the rules and regulations that govern their irresponsible actions!!! What next a whole nation of minimum wage slaves with no rights??
Trade Unionism and the right to strike is a fundamental cornerstone of any democracy. It's about ordinary, working people participating and taking control of the issues that directly affect their lives.
So according to this tory government strike levels will remain a fundemental right so long as we don't actually use that right to defend ourselves against their pro-business cuts!
The GMB conference makes the mood of the youth and trade unions clear - we wont take this lying down! "From scotland to Spain the struggles the same!"
We are now seeing OUR public services being melted down to be sold off to the private fat-cats....n.h.s,councils,police force, post office are all ready to go to the highest bidder unless the british public stand-up and do nothing about it...and yes i did say n.h.s....
Borrowing money from corrupt bondholders to in-debt our children is a grossly unfair policy.
