@187prettyboy That does way in a bit, but Auckland's population is 1.4mil. So even if you split the area equally, you'd get close to 500,000 in each area but it doesn't work out quite like that as most people in the area are eligible for Auckland. I've lived in Auckland for 10 years now and have gone back to supporting my team of birth because even though Auckland and Blues get such talent... they always seem to choke or just give away easy game. Would be nice to see them do well though!
@barsKuu Nah, the population of Auckland rugby is overstated. When you think about it, the city is split into 3 (Auckland, North Harbour and Manukau (Counties)). So the Auckland team is only 1/3 of the population that the media talks about. You split Canterbury into 3 teams, see how many NPC they will win.
goodbye stephen brett and luke mcallister hello gareth anscombe and ma'a nonu now we just need to reel in sonny bill williams and thats a formidable back line, even though i would prefer him to stay at the crusaders where he will become more of a complete player.
Have to say this but Auckland definitely under performs when you look at the percentage of population in their region... But hopefully with a number of the senior players moving on they can rebuild a strong young team! Blues will be very interesting to watch next season!
