I have invited the greatest master of percussion, who has ever honoured our planet, to play at a company event in Zurich, Switzerland. Pls. see him playing and try to understand what value he has added to our lives, to our cultures. He has moved the percussion and rhythm scene just like James Brown has moved the western music, like Muhammad Ali has moved the sports world. Meeting him and shaking his hand was to me an unforgettable experience, i am still shaky. I am honoured and delighted to live in the same aera as he.

  • i don't believe i am adding a comment to the video i have posted, but by Allah, the guy is not from this planet. This is far beyond anything anyone thought would be possible with a drum. I am honoured to have met him.

  • @Lehmann108 Ramzy?! Ok, I understand,. you just have no clue... If you would have said Said el Artist ok, but hossam?

You like playing the expert, don't you? it is not that easy bro. I tell you, there musicans which are fast AND groovy/musical. listen Chopin for example...

  • @Lehmann108 Often when sombody is playing fast, he's just showing of. But man this Misirli Ahmet. Your mistake is to say that when somebody is playing fast is not musical. Ahmet is one of most musical players I have ever heard. Perheps you just can't hear this Music because your ears are not ready for this. Or they will never be, because you there is other Music you like. Thats ok. But dont say somebody is unmuscal when he plays fast. It is not that easy...

  • He is the best by far...not the fastest...great melodies, great sound, great feeling....his brother is awesome too

  • Where is tombak?

tombak is a great master too.

    come on tombak,

  • This is a performance to show his abilities, like speed and different levels you can acomplish on the darbuka. You have a lot of videos of him where he totally sets the grove, just watch this link: /watch?v=xD8qYHnjQK0&feature=PlayList&p=AC1A9F2CF2331688&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=11. Enjoy :)

  • yep , sure he doesn't walk on the water , BUT

he fly in the sky with fish...skin

  • No, I'm not a "jealous prick". You guys aren't getting my point. I think his chops are amazing, but from everything I've seen on Youtube it mostly just fast rolls and technical playing. There is no musicality at all. And as far as Kaspar goes, yeah maybe I wasn't thinking straight! I just don't like this style of playing. Technically amazing, but musically dead.
