Poetic Awesomeness

I presented an original poem written by yours truly using some unconventional methods. This made it turn out to become one of the greatest poetry reading presentations in my high school's history.

This is the poem:
War.
Just like God,
It is all around us.
It consumes our lives,
Whether we know it or not,
Whether we like it or not.
It fuels our day.
It puts food on the table,
But also takes it away.
It is the peanut butter to the jelly of humanity.
It is a drug that becomes too addicting.
It is a pest that cannot be controlled,
A thief that cannot be caught,
A train that cannot be stopped.
With it, we are lost.
Without it, we are lost.
We can pretend to ignore as much as we want,
We can pretend to forget as much as we want,
We can re-populate as much as we want,
But we cannot replace those lost.
Bush, Stalin, Hitler.
People who continued to do war,
Despite our best efforts.
Religion, money, hatred.
They are the causes,
But what we need is a solution.
What we need is someone who can step up,
Someone who can look war in the eye and say
"Screw you"
Only then will we achieve true happiness,
Only then will we achieve world peace.
You may ask,
"Where do we find someone like that?"
Well, my friends,
The answer is quite simple.
There's no need to hold elections,
No need to scour the globe.
This person is found in one place,
And one place only.
Yourself.
