My sister and two of her friends went on the waltzers at Crow's Fair at the local recreation ground - they used to like riding with the bar open! I think they automatically lock, now, don't they - or, if somebody opens it, the ride stops.

Also, that fair had problems with their arithmetic - in those days, it said 20p per person (early '80s, here!), one in a car = double fare - all four of them were able to squeeze into one car without being squashed - they had the nerve to charge them £1.20!
