My dad bought a 240 wayyy back in '70 but I dont remember the top part of his rear bumper looking like the one on yours.. Maybe that was some dealer add-on ??

@twstrchasr Yes, that was a dealer accessory. There was one on the front as well but I took it off. The side moldings also a dealer accessory.

But please...what is up with the painted line or harware on the side. Please take that hideous thing down. Cheapens the whole thing, when did 70's crap become cool???

That is a trim piece to eliminate door dings and such. Very popular add on from the dealer from back in the day. I hate the way it looks too. I would've taken it off but then there would've been screw holes in the sheet metal.
