  • 99% percent of our wood is hauled this way up in the Upper Great Lakes. Our mills are only set up to take wood in 8' lengths. We haul heavier loads than most other places in the country. One of my other videos shows a truck load of wood being hauled up here.

  • The pix are of my Dad behind our camp in Rock, Mi. He built the drays and the trailer. The dozer came from DC Equipment in Menominee and the loader is a Gafner, which were built in Escanaba and Gladstone. We picked up a spare loader in thoughts putting another dozer / loader set up together but just haven't gotten around to it. Thanks for watching .... Its all about the memories

  • would u sell it

  • No we use it pretty regularly. But we could probalby but another one together like it.

  • Hey nice set up can I contact your father I'm thinking on the same set up need to no were he got the loader?.

  • Yeah he is usually around our shop during the day (906)356-6303. Ask for Bob. The loader is a Gafner 30 and it was built just down the road from us in Escanaba & Gladstone, Michigan. They are not made anymore but you can find old ones laying around from time to time. The drays and trailer was built from scratch by my Dad.

  • To what purpose do you put logs of that length? Thanks.. from Kentucky

  • I have one of those Gafner loaders as well, made in Escanaba.

  • WOW! That looks like my dad's old machine! He lived in Florence WI (15 miles west of Iron Mountain MI on US 2). I see you mentioned Escanaba, so this could possibly be his? He also had a wheeled dray and two skid drays. Not sure what year he sold it though. Thanks for the memories!

  • that is one of the best bits of kit iv ever seen. i would really like to do the same with my dozer, but il probably never get round to it.

  • I lke it

  • nice vid and song love them old dozers!
