I think a good idea they've gotten rid of was the fact that you could play as Sonic AND Tails in the Sonic series (Sonic Heros does NOT count).

smw has spin jumping,which is a pretty good idea in my opinion because it is way more "controlled"(it doesn´t mess up as much as normal jumping) but they never kept that.

They originally put it in Zero Mission, but they left it out due to time constraints I believe. There is an edited ROM somewhere that added the feature back in.
