That plastic ones aren't that bad but wooden instruments tend to get a better sound (like with clarinets, I really want a wooden one) unless the instrument's in such bad condition.
It's kind of sad really, how expensive our deals our.

Yeah I totally agree! Oooh thats good, I havn't really ever used a plastic one (I lucked out and got the schools wood one). Haha I like how 6,400 is a deal... (Only in bassoon world).

Fox makes such nice ones. I'm playing on a plastic one, since it's a rental but I still get such a better sound out of it (the school's is wood too!). I find it funny though, my teacher has the exact same model as me but her's is wood. And she got a deal on it $6,400 dollars.
