Castlevania: Harmony of Despair - Chapter 3: The End of Chaos - Hard Solo Speed Run - Shanoa

For those in need of farming for Chaos Rings or Lapiste or even Nebula for any Soma that tag along, you can follow this little speed run to cut through Chapter 3's mess of enemies as the Mother of Magic, Shanoa. Through this path, I was able to grab 5 Lapiste Scrolls for myself, Nebula for my Bro, NY ChromeBuster, and 2 Chaos Rings for myself. I'm not complaining!

Mind you, you'll need to have downloaded Chapter 8 in order to have access to her sexy new spell, Globus! You'll have to get the spell outta Boss Drops on Normal and Hard, but on Hard Mode, you'll also have a chance at them in Purple Chests. 4 Purple Chests lie on Chapter 8 so get lucky! I've grabbed 3 Globus spells in a few runs so far.

Picture Ricochet Rocks, but 2 large orbs thrown in opposite 30 degree angles. Globus is ridiculously easy to level up to 9, either through Survival Grinding or through Chapter 8 Hard Runs as each orb counts as a hit and you can easily spam them.

With this path, you can run down Menace in 2 minutes, in which you can run up to 30 times against him within an hour. My best time this way is 1:27:11, but that was a bit of a fluke. Just keep on trying this way and you'll get some good stuff dropping for ya and anyone who tags along.

Now, there has been talk of luck influencing (or not influencing) Boss Drops or faster clears get you better items or even opening the boss chest as it flashes cause that's suppose to net you a rare item... Whatever! I'm not 100% on what to believe. I've even tried the time theory where you add the digits which totals near the 80 or 160 range will net you a 5 Star item... This did feel true as I did score the Chaos Rings with a total within the high 80s (87 for this one) but take it with a grain of salt as I may have gotten stupidly lucky to score them.

Thank you for this video. I didn't even think about using that blasted imp! I already got my friend a Chaos ring, but didn't get one myself, haha. Now I can fix this problem XD

Hell Yeah you can fix that! Right after I read on GameFAQs how it must be a joke to try to beat Menace with Globus, I had to give it a shot!

Strangely, Globus kicks his ass hands down! Good luck getting a few Chaos Rings! :D

wow seriously the chaos ring is so rare on this chapter I have hundreds of hours on this game and I only got 4 chaos rings from chapter 3 hard ever

You find the Rings and her new spell, Globus, on Chapter 8. You gotta download it for 320 points. Drops include the Minerva and Valkyrie Sets for Shanoa, Simon's Cloak, Valmanways (more for Alucard over Soma,) & other common hard Drops. Normal drops the Apollonian & Artemisian Rings (which are Megingiord and Sun/Moon Stones combined. A Very Good Item to use.)

Check the next few weeks for new Chapters (Ch 9 which the boss is Beelzebub & Ch 10 which will be a throwback lvl)
