  • there was nothing in that video about mark knopfler's technique. plz mind your titles next time...

  • Admittedly it is brief but the crux of his much of his technque is revealed around 1m25s. So fundemental yet if you blink you miss it. The title probably over sells it so I'll sort that out.

  • How did sting get involved with writing the song money for nothing with Mark and collaborating on the recording? I find that odd and hard to believe. Great vid!

  • Hi mate, well the intro to M4N is the police's 'don't stand so close to me' chorus albeit played much slower. I think the relevance is that the police where on a MTV ad at the time singing that or something. Sting happened to be in area when Marc was recording M4N and thought it would be great if sting could sing it since it was his song. I think that is the reason sting gets accredited with co writing it but really it was mainly Mark. I'm sure someone more clued up on this may correct me.

  • @111610310925 its a whole series of documentaries actually. I think it was called the seven ages of rock or something like that. I saw only the first one, about jimi hendrix but it was... actually I can't find words to describe it. Exquisite?

  • hey ..could anyone tell me ..which tour video are these ..... thanx in advance..

  • Mark is just the man

  • Is the Narrator Mr Methane??

  • is that narrator taking the piss out of the north east

  • I never saw a Knopfler/Sumner on the credits...or a Geldof. I think the watching world were the stars the way they stepped up at the time

  • Love this, I wish it would have gone on longer. Seemed like it stopped in midsentence. I want more!! =) thanks!!

  • @alittlewasser apart from the close up of his fingers playing MFN????

  • Yes there is a very informative bit in the right hand thing. That could be huge should someone like myself give up the pick, which I have, Danny Gatton, also.
