The San Mateo Creek in the San Onofre State Park is currently seriously threatened by the proposed destruction of 60% of the park's land which would put a 6-lane toll road along the creek's watershed and also cross over it. The infrastructure and additional traffic and development associated with the road poses a serious risk to this sensitive and unique southern Californian habitat.
