A questionable poll states that 7/10 people who live in NY want the "mosque" moved. I live here. i have never heard one discussion anywhere, in any coffee shop, bar, on the street, in the office on this topic. The building is still an empty former Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse. For the love of any god, please stop the madness. I see more Muslims everyday than most Americans will see in a lifetime. I tease them about their religion & they've never even come close to threatening me. WTF?

@itsayellowfig You did say that. look back. I said previously I lived in Queens and you kept saying I was "hanging w/educated, non dedicated Muslims" as if the neighborhood was upper class. Queens is generally poor & nearly 3 million strong. You won't see massive populations of Muslims living in Manhattan. I don't know just 1 nice Muslim. I know many but I don't ever associate w/them anymore because I live in a rural area of Connecticut now. Ignorant white people are about 65% of the majority.

Its not like you misunderstand what I'm saying as if we were conversing, you just can't read. Personal experience is my evidence. I didn't say Islam is nice or the truth. I can only say I believe that the majority of Muslims are probably decent people & definitely not connected to terrorism or sharia law. In fact, they might be in America because they find the worst parts of islam as practiced in the ME too distasteful for them. And I lived in a cheap ghetto. Do you even know anything about NYC?

@it I lived in NY for 10 years! What is unsupported? It is my personal experience. You can't look that up. My best friend in Queens was a very devoted Palestinian Muslim who was never late for his Friday prayers. He gave me books on Islam because I asked to be educated. He would try to explain what I did not understand. He did this despite knowing I was an anti-theist. A remarkably accepting man. Where I lived you are forced to get along w/people from all religions & socio-political backgrounds.

@itsayellowf Didn't I say the poll was QUESTIONABLE? The issue is not controversial anymore but it really was never an issue. It was a propaganda stunt by FOX to get people all crazy. We got bigger problems now. Nobody really cared about that mosque or talked about it. I lived near a mosque, in fact one of THE mosques where 9/11 was planned. I doubt it was really planned there but that is what people say. Nobody cares that it is there, and most don't even notice it. Dead issue. Move on.
