Ahh Macross fan. You should know that wrt54g is worth money because you can put custom firmware on it and improve hardware performance ten-fold.

@asus3571 ya i have my 160n on top of my Antec 900 case's exhaust fan now. (only the wifi died in it so now im using it as a bridge) For my E3000, I took an old PSU, cut a hole the size of a 120mm case fan in the top, put a 120mm case fan there to blow the air into the E3000, wired it to a USB, and plugged it into one of those USB charger things like the iPhone comes with. I have it running 24/7 and the router stays cool to the touch.

@MLGProXBuddy175X agree with u the 160n does get hot ive put it ontop of my haf 932's top exaust fan not more heat probs

this router served me well pretty fast im now on their best model the e4200 its the best ive used

The only thing I hate about this router design is tht is has terrible ventilation. My WRT160N died from overheating and my E3000 almost did 2. I built a cooling device for it. These things should really have fans built in.

@mrahman0205 u cant. it only has a 2.4 gHz bandwidth. which means if ur lucky, u can get 130mbps. u need a router with a 5gHz bandwidth like the E2000 (has 2.4 OR 5) or the E3000 (which has both 2.4 and 5) and a Wireless N 5gHz compliant card/adapter for ur computer.

Linksys E3000 is better .

i love the access restrictions and qos settings of this router, i highly recommend this for port blocking if one computer is using torrents...
@MLG, even older, it's a Dell 8300 pent 4 , 2.66 gz. It refuses to die. U should write or film a review of your linksys router. My experiences with this one was terrible. It died a few months after I made this video.

What's up man? Just got one of those, and was wondering what is a good modem to compliment it?

Don't know, at the time that I owned this router, I had a Zhone DSL modem. It was the freebee I got when I signed up for Caviler ISP.

can i make use of the higher bandwidth even if my wireless adapter is "g"

Nope. Wireless networks only run as fast as the slowest component.
