  • yo nigga, dont be too unkind with your word you are take off the merit of many guys that dont made high school but realy can do the same master results with their softwares, the same results than you and other engineers take out.

    with all do respect.

  • @gmarildo2002 I dont take what you're saying personal. I'm just speaking on those that dont know what their doing. Those who havent done their research. I have every mastering plugin in the world, but that doesnt mean that I'm gonna front like I'm a professoinal mastering engineer. Some people dont even know what a mastering facility looks like. I know real mastering engineers that have been in this business 20+ years and trust me. There is a difference.

  • I'm definitely feeling this video. This is why I always use the "quote-unquote" finger gesture when I tell people that I can "master" their songs. I'm really happy I saw this video, because it just proves my speculation on recording engineers who say they professionally master their songs.

  • very informative......thanks

  • @FiLdUbz He is mostly right, but its not all about thousands od bucks on equipment ..its a having a good mix to work with 1st .2nd a good mastering engineer..and if the engineer has protools hd/waves/ good monitors/ then you can get a pro MASTER..I have my own mastering company and ive been mixing and mastering since 2000..if your good at both your just good at both....and the comin man dont have 2,000 bucks to spend on 1track thats crazy...oh yeah and you suposed to let them here before & after

  • Jaz, gimme an email and i'll send you a file mastered with a pair of headphones (good ones nonetheless) but a solitary pair of headphones. and i promise you, you can give the RAW FILE (source file from which the final came) to ANYONE, and they will not be able to do better than what i did with it. Much of this "never-master-your-own-shit" shit has been propagated by opportunists in the industry who know their business dwindles as ppl bcome more alert. the exceptions to this "rule" are growing.

  • This guy is right, a mastering engineer is a totally different art than a mixing/recording engineer. And the equipment is a far cry from each other too. Secondly mastering equipment can start at the $10k range and up!

  • the mastering engineers have something that most don't and i'm not talking about equipment, its there ears- 20 years of listening-

  • You just said all the right words . Gotta say i doubt most producers / engineers nowadays , but i can see you know some things about mastering . Keep it up !

  • Honestly yall, you don't have to spend years upon years to learn mastering or anything. Some ppl learn fast some have to take their time. It's all about commitment and studies. If you only spend one hour everyday learning mastering, you can't compare urself to someone that spend ten hours everyday doing the same thing. And that person will def catch up quicker. And also music biz is division of labour, u can't do it all. u gat to specialize in one or two aspect and leave the rest to others.
