FOR RELEASE 31 OCT 2007 (Chicago, Illinois, USA): Here's a very rare, "up close and personal" performance by singer songwriter Miriam Clancy to help raise awareness and money as part of the Oxjam Music Festival in support of Oxfam, a global charitable organisation based in the United Kingdom.

Miriam performs this brand new song -- "Hello/Goodbye" -- exclusively for Oxfam in her train cabin (yes, that's true!) as she nears Chicago, Illinois en route from Los Angeles, California. You'll feel that she's singing just for you!! Watch and see... and savour the experience!!!

Miriam is a critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist born in New Zealand (a "Kiwi"), who has been performing a wide range of beautiful music as a roving professional around the globe for many years. In 2006 she released her debut album in New Zealand, "Lucky One," of original songs to rave reviews. Lately she's been busy recording all new original songs for her eagerly-awaited second album coming out in 2008.

Miriam departed her native New Zealand to become immersed in the American music scene in October 2007 -- the same month as the Oxjam Music Festival worldwide benefiting Oxfam.

Oxfam works with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering. Oxfam uses a range of approaches to achieve change and improve peoples' lives, including saving lives through emergency response; longer term development programmes; and campaigning to achieve lasting change. Oxfam GB is a registered charity (no 202918) and a member of Oxfam International.

Miriam is one of three phenomenal female singer-songwriters in different parts of the world who have teamed up via YouTube on behalf of Oxfam for this "virtual international gig" as never before done for Oxjam!! Along with Miriam performing literally in transit near Chicago in the USA, there's also American Kyrie from her college residence in Boston and fellow Kiwi Jackie Bristow from her current flat in Auckland, New Zealand while home from her dual bases in Los Angeles, California and Sydney, Australia!! You're definitely in for a "treat" (it's Halloween on the 31st of October, you know!!) if you check them all out at http://www.OxjamMusic.org !!!

If you appreciate their music and heartfelt efforts on behalf of such a great cause, please donate whatever you feel like contributing from the secure link on the site.
