It fell into the ocean. It was old and didn't have the same capabilities of adjusting its orbit as the new space station.

1000 mph at T+10 is B.S. Dude at Houston just screwed up. More like they clear the tower at 100 mph. You don't go supersonic until about T+50 seconds. On a day launch, especially if it's humid, you actually see the Prandtl-Glauert Effect.

He didn't make that call at t+10, it was closer to 28 seconds after launch.
