(Sun Conure) Oushi's Cage Antics

I put on a random cover song by Boyce Avenue, and Oushi suddenly felt like dancing for me.

In this video, he's only about.... 6.5months old. I'd just purchased him from PetSmart.... or more like RESCUED him from PetSmart. He was all alone, in an enclosure, but seemed happy enough. His tail was extremely raggedy, and his coloring was semi-dull. The worker took him out for me, he sat on her shoulder, and she flipped him upside down (against his will, it seemed) and I smiled etc. but we ended up leaving. Later that week, we went to a few other places and their sun conures were absolute nightmares and wouldn't do anything but scream and sprint around their cages..... so I knew Oushi was special. The night I saw my last Sun Conure, I called PetSmart and immediately went and bought him.

Since then, he's proven to me that he loves me and is a very special bird. He doesn't have a store-bird personality, but shows signs of how people would reach in and just grab him, in order to get him out sometimes.... I'm working with him and he's already to the point where he loves being scratched by me and doesn't mind a few pets on his back. I think both he AND i are greatful to have run into each other.

No, not really. Sun Conure's seem to be happiest when they enough/alot of attention from their owners. A happy sun conure is one that spends much time with the people who love them most.

Oushi is one year and one month old. He's a great little guy and I think he's chosen me as his mate... haha.

I love Sun Conures - just like my Sunny- such characters. Glad you are both getting along great. Try also rubbing his cheeks and back of his neck against the feathers - he should love that. I see he has a snuggle tent in his cage - Sunny ALWAYS has to sleep in his snuggle tent at night. Cute dancer !!!
