I would like to solve the mystery of why this voice was not out there..It could not be underated if it was heard.

@singasonglorriegirl I'm a rocker at heart, but I really loved her voice and how she carried herself. Mother Carter surely had something to do with that.

ok, I'm 56, and I also never heard about Anita Carter.... here in Austria we know
"only" Johnny Cash (its ok), but who knows in "good old europe" a Carter family/sisters? youtube bring me to this great and impression music. This time, October 2011 I heard about Anita, and its really a wounderful and extraordinary experience. I hope more Austrian and European people learn to know more about Anita and the Carter Sisters! especially Anita!!!!

one of the best lookin women i have ever seen period and what a singer

I first heard Anita's voice on a Friday nite Country Gold Classics radio show in Phila in the 90s - couldn't believe that I had never heard of her before her voice was so beautiful. Purchased the boxed set of Anita's recordings "Appalachian Angel" a couple of years ago. What a talent. And what class compared to the self-adulating trash in the US entertainment industry today!

Why did she die so young? She was only 66. :(

It's unfortunate Anita Carter never got the acolaides of a great singing voice she had and she perhaps may had bene the most versitile vocalist of the Carter Family and she could sing just about everyhting from pop, folk, & country. This song is a good example of that and she did such a nice rendition of that Elton John/Bernie Taupin tune.
One of my favorite songs especially with my mama singing it. This was from her last CD that she did before her death in 1999. Miss you sweet smiling face but at least I can hear your beautiful voice!!
