AMTRAK 314(Kirkwood, MO-Jan 30, 2009)

"Ladies and Gentlemen......Amtrak Train No. 314 now arriving from Kansas City and Jefferson City." This train, formerly the "Ann Rutledge," has been renamed the "Missouri River Runner" after that name was selected on January 28 as the winner in the Missouri Dept. of Transportation(MODOT) "Name The Train" contest. The train was only 15 minutes late because of much lighter than usual freight traffic on the UP line between Kansas City and St. Louis, and numerous track improvements as well. Man, Kirkwood MO!! My old boyhood town! I love the train station in Kirkwood....many happy memories as a kid.....I have family in Sedalia and I used to take the train from St.Louis to Sedalia alot as a teen......I'll be passing by Kirkwood again this year on my way to Sedalia to the State Fair!! Thank you for the wonderful memories! Glad that poor lady didn't hurt herself! LOL!
