August 11, 2009 We're in Mom's Brooklyn kitchen. Had to edit the video, it was too long. Edie Romanelli, my Mom, is 86 years old. She has Parkinson's, so I'm her mouth and hands on these videos. Her humor comes through on this video (if that part wasn't cut!).
Recipe: 1 cup all-purpose flour; 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/3 cup milk--stir. Coat 6 zucchini or squash flowers and fry in hot over medium high heat until golden on both sides. Serve immediately.
We had the flowers for lunch immediately following the video, with a mound of peppered ricotta--yum.

  • So glad you like it. My Mom died 2 months ago and I haven't watched any of the videos. I have one more that I didn't post from Christmas time on Pizza Rustica. I'll do it this Christmas.
