  • Was this before they put the electric bells on?

  • @WPRR1 I shot this video at the crossing that leads to the little bear campground. In the video these sound like regular bills and not electric bells. Its not to often that I make it out to this crossing so I have no idea if they have since put electric bells on this crossing after I shot the video.

  • @CoastStarlight11 They sounded electric when you last filmed the Zephyr there. And when I was there they were electric so, yah.

  • @WPRR1 Actually correction. I went to review my graeagle videos and the last time I shot at that crossing was August 20, 2010. I shot the Feather River Express going through that crossing, not the Zephyr. When I reviewed the video they did infact put electric bells at this crossing when I shot that August 20, 2010 vid. I have shot the detoured Zephyr in the Feather River Canyon before but I have never shot the detoured Zephyr at the Graeagle crossing.

  • Awesome job!!! Love that train!!!

  • @tj12777 Interesting info. You can see my other 844 vids as well if you search my youtube account for "UP 844".

  • My dad was nearby, with the tracks hidden by the woods. He said he heard the whistle, but didn't see the train. I'll have to show him this video the next time we get together.

  • Every year they post the schedual on the Union Pacific web sit as to when and where the UP 844 and UP 3985 steam engines will run. Rarely does it come this far west, last time it came this far west this year 2009 video was like in year 1999 and prior to that was like 1991. The steam engines are kept in Cheyenne, Wyoming and do random tours every year in and out of Cheyenne.

  • Holy smokes, do they actually do these trips? If so where and when?
