This is just what I was looking for! I hate dpns and really wanted to figure out how to knit a hat without having to invest a small fortune in needles. Thanks so much for sharing :)

Are you using the real "Magic Loop" or regular circ'? How would this work for socks, and what length needle would be best?

This is what I did for my first hat! I started on size 10, 20" circs and switched to 16" and then when it got REALLY small I did just what you are doing. I do know how to do the regular magic loop, but this seemed much easier. It worked out fine. May I never touch a set of DPNs ever heh.

I do it this way, too! Before I knew the "real" magic loop method, I thought that's what people meant. :)

I knit just like you! What do you do when you get to the end of the round??
I still have yet to conquer Magic loop.
