I'm playing a version of solar flare. i was told by a player whom i admit is more experienced at MTG then i am, not to use quicklands like darkslick in the deck... I don't understand his reasoning. Any suggestions?

@supermaxguy I guess it's a personal preference. Darkslick shore smees like a good card to use in Solar flare.

the heartless summonning player is an idiot. Never play around leaks, he played a metamorph targeting a caster mage?? to flashback nothing?? why u don w8 to copy a titan or something, why u play ur best cards to target garbage creatures... go and play pokemon...

never understood the fun in playing a control deck like solar flare. u literally bore the other person out of cards then u play a titan.

@supermaxguy dark slick etc come in tapped if u have 3 - lands, drowned cata etc comes in tapped if you have no swamps etc, so ones best early tehe other late in a turn 5 or 6 use both

@supermaxguy in all honesty hes wrong you need a decent split between the come into play tap lands and not .. you need the scars lands so you can have Liliana and manaleck up early game ... the reason hes telling you not to play them is because late game they come into play tap and puts u at a slight mana disadvantage at that point but your playing a control deck so it shouldn't be a probelm unless you need it on like turn 4 to day or die . but at that point it pretty much gg so yeah use them

@supermaxguy quicklands are best for decks that Need turn 1 - 3 action. control decks like flare can be harmed by having too many taplands so some think it wiser to cut on the quicklands. still, it is a matter of preference, keep testing and trying different choices it and you´ll find your ideal mana base.

@NOtekkenNOlife1 early pressure and control, you try to discard cards you can flash back and make him sac creatures to delay to your big creatures. honestly, IMO, lliana is better in solar flare for the sake of sun titan, but can win games in any deck you play her in.
