Big Sur... nothing more needs to be said about an incredible place to hold the celebration of the demise of Jeff Rattos bachelorhood. To compound the wonder of this locale is the fact that the weather was warm and the surf was up. Attendees for this 5 day event came from as far away as Switzerland (Wyatt Zen Master Getz). Not all of us, however, were completely comfortable about this being a camping trip. Many had to go out and buy new camping equipment and one of us, Ben City Boy Straub, even wasafraid of nature. The meals were whipped up expertly by Matt The Chef Harris and way too much beer (2 kegs) was brought along by Ryan Laggin Flaggin Flagg.

The festivities began on Thursday when Matt & I arrived at Plaskett Campgrounds to set up our campsite with tents, a canopy, that acted as our living room, and a 20ft, full restaurant quality catering wagon that was our kitchen on wheels thoughout the weekend. We were joined a couple of hours later by Jeff & Nate Wild Man Goldman who drove up from Malibu. Jimmy Rock & Roll Diez had spent the afternoon at Sand Dollar beach & was the first to sample the surf. He joined us a short time later. To round out the field on the first night was Scott Movieman Alexander who was the last to arrive on that first night from Santa Rosa....Oh yeh.... we mustnt forget Edna. The anatomically correct blow up doll provided for us by Jeffs mom, Helen, that acted as our official mascot.

After partaking heavily of the potation of the Blue Agave plant (Tequila), we woke up EARLY the next morning, to the camp ranger yelling at the top of his lungs HEY YOU IN THE TENTS, YOU HAVE TO MOVE YOUR CARS!!! I personally can not describe how distressing this was to my fragile condition. My head was pounding and my stomach was rolling. After gingerly moving our cars to the designated areas we took the opportunity to head for the beach. The day of surfing was fantastic . When we returned we were joined by the rest of our group. Lonely Ben was sitting in the campsite all by himself. Ryan & Wyatt came down from Monterey airport shortly after. Jason Cunado Clark arrived from Lake Tahoe with his Golden Lab, Colt. Then Ian Veggies Only Evenstar showed up with a big-ass camera (I cant wait to see his pics).

The stage was now set for beautiful days of surfing & hiking and interesting nights of drinking & carousing. Ben learned to appreciate nature when he said Nature is natural sitting on a bluff observing the sunset. Scott learned to fear nature when he said SOMETHINGS MOVING.... THERES SOMETHING MOVING UP HERE!!! after he climbed a tree. (It was only Matt relieving himself in the woods.)

You had to be there.
