I wrote this at university in Edinburgh in 2004. So yes it's definitely original :) no problem with people covering it though as long as I am credited!

I recognise the melody, what song are people saying this melody was taken from, i want to compare them because it would be a shame if this song is totally ripped off as i really enjoy and thought this guy had some major talent.

I will actually reply to you, unlike the other ones because you haven't just written an inane, insulting comment! The melody is my own, the picking part was influenced by Red Hot Chili Peppers (A song called My Friends) although I wouldn't say I ripped it off! The song is original other than that - I'm not going out trying to sell this or steal anyone's ideas, just writing and playing songs as its my hobby and I enjoy it! Glad you like the song anyway.
