A few of us used to sneak up there when I was a student back in 86'. Used to doss class and/or spend free classes up there smoking cigs and enjoying the feeling of breakin' the law. They boarded it up a few times but students always managed to break in. A cool place to escape to. Rumours of ghosts and weird noises coming from there abounded but we were never lucky/unlucky enough to experience anything like that. If only it had been a mixed school, then we would have had real fun up there!!

Amazing, well done Mike Sligo. I'm out of Summerhill 15 years now would you believe. But I remember exploring that area (ie the bell tower) back in 1990 when I was 15 years old. Rumour has it that there was a Ouiji Board up there. We never found it however. We couldn't find the bell either. At the time the area was boarded off but we still managed to climb around the boards ... dangerous shit!! Can't reveal my real name - don't want to get detention after 18 years!!
