"I'm auditioning for a movie this afternoon, wish me luck." Camille smiled and turned to look at me. I was smiling too because I knew that Camille was trying to make me feel better by giving Kendall a hard time. It worked.

After gym I casually walked over to Kendall. He was laying against the wall outside the door.
"So you tell a girl you like her, then you say 'oh sorry I'm not allowed to date.'?!" I sassed.
"No," he exhaled. "I dropped a few hints at home and my mom was like 'you're too young to date! No. you're not mature enough...' and all that crap."
"Oh."
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you."
I didn't say a word.
"Oh, and did I mention I'm leaving for the summer."
I looked up.
"I'm going back to Minnesota for the rest of the summer."
"Oh. So you tell a girl you like her, then make up some lame excuse about why you can't date only to hide the fact that you're leaving for the rest of the summer?!" I huffed.
"Jo." Kendall tried to comfort me.
I reached in my bag and pulled out a gift.
"Here."
"What's this?" he asked, glancing in the bag.
"I know that you're birthday is coming up soon and I got you something. I was going to give it to you on your birthday, but now that you're leaving...." I raised my eyebrows.
"Uh, thanks."
I heard my mom call me, we needed to go.
"I have to go."
"Wait!" Kendall came after me.
He hugged me for a long while, and I hugged back.
"Thank you." he said before letting me go.

The summer past and school started back up again. Kendall returned from Minnesota with the rest of his hockey buddies and we all came back to the Palm Woods school.
At first it was a tad awkward seeing Kendall for the first time in a month, but we quickly warmed up.
I felt like he ay have changed a little. He got taller and her cut his hair. And he seemed really glad to see me, and I was glad to see him.
We were just friends back then, and we still are, only our relationship has changed.
We are still best buds but now I feel that we are closer, but not together closer.
