This is just brilliant. If you like piano blues, if you wish to know about William Shakespeare's blues legacy, if you are curious to know what does it mean to 'feel a feeling of the feeling that you feel before you had the feel of a feeling...", if you also wish to learn a bit more about love, misery, tears and sloppy juicy kisses, well... this number is for you! :-)

  • What a fantastic, smooth voice and such amazing piano playing. I'm friends with his granddaughter and we are both in the same sixth form at a school in Halifax west Yorkshire. A truly talented guy, long may he be remembered.

  • Had the pleasure meeting Mr Dupree in '91. (Djurs Bluesland)

    Boy he was OLD,

    ..

    but B O Y,

    could he play the piano..

Aand could he give you T H A T Blues feeling...

    R.I.P.

  • I would have liked to hear him sit down and have a little chat with Slim Galliard. :D

  • what album is this one in??

  • Gotta love that Dupree Special. What a voice! This song is perfect for the literary specialist, the blues lovers, and the piano players. What a great song! Thank you.

  • I'm very thankful for posting this, because i remember this thing, when I saw him in Braunschweig (near my home village) maybe in 1974. I really don't understood the words exactly, but I understood what he's was talking about over nearly 20 twenty minutes and in this time he drank half a litre of german brandy (you know "Asbach uralt") - it was so great and funny - one of the best entertaining evenings of my life !!!!

  • Great humour and great musicianship, what a guy.

  • Love the guy, but he took a lot of punches.

  • Dupree is the unsung Ray Charles of the Blues

  • This is the best song in the whole wide world!

I know you've done had that kind of trouble, so I'll sing a little bit of that, sing a little bit of this Dupree Special and let ya get to understanding of this. You dig, don't cha? You dig this, a'right.
