Properly removing your old carb starts with labeling all the vacuum hoses, electrical wires and linkage to make the install of your new carb easier.

If you buy a brand new Holley 4-barrel, this DVD now comes in the box with every purchase. If you already own a Holley carburetor or would like to learn about the internals of the all-time, most popular modular style carburetor, this is the DVD for you.

It's the ultimate installation, tuning and troubleshooting guide for the Holley modular style carburetor. This disc will also help tune and troubleshoot any other brand of modular style and some one-piece style carburetors.

Menus are full of bonus information and detailed animated tours of carburetor
internals and accessory kits.

  • I'm trying to remove the Transmission Kick Down Linkage... The little cord with a black "keyhole" looking thing at the end of it. How do you disconnect this?

  • @iVideoful If you grab that Trans Kick-down linkage as you're standing at the front of the engine and pull it toward you while holding the throttle linkage still, it should just slip off forward towards you...

It's just an interference-fit piece that has a pinch slot built in.

No need for special tools, just pull on it and when you replace, just push it in until it clicks into place.

  • @iVideoful The instructions below are for one type of kickdown that is a black teardrop shaped plastic piece on the end of a kick-down cable...

If you have the style of kickdown that has a long slot in it and a round exit point towards the front, you should be able to hold the throttle open and then slip the kick-down off the throttle level, through the round exit hole, while the throttle is open.

  • OK, so what carburetor INSTALL videos actually show how to INSTALL a carburetor? So far, the two I have clicked on (this one included) has shown either removal or tuning - I have yet to see a video on INSTALLING the thing. Please title your videos appropriately as it saves your viewers MUCH frustration and annoyance.

  • @JamesMorlan This short clip comes from a full length DVD that is over 2 hours long. It contains a ton of information specific to Holley carburetor installation, tuning and troubleshooting.

The reason the keywords "carburetor install" are in the title is because of the obvious reason that that's the title of the DVD...

We did post a specific video related to the installation section of the DVD, just go to the BoxWrench channel here on YT and you'll find more carb videos.

  • made it easy to take my carb off. ty.

  • i have to say.. you really do need to disconect the battery b4 you start.. i found this the hard way..

  • @JamesMorlan Got me there, well theres tons of manuals and stuff online. hope you got/get it working

  • @boredomblows Well, seeing as I never did it before, I didn't know if I should clean the area with something where the carb seats, or if I should be concerned about torquing the bolts down to a specific tension, etc. It seems a lot of people make a lot of assumptions about what others know or should know, and that's easy to do if you're familiar with something. But since I've never done it before, it's all new to me, especially since I wasn't the one who removed it.

  • @JamesMorlan not trying to be a dick. but installation is just the reverse of removal, really.
