  • I know that we cant get every detail right but there is one thing that bothers me more than anything else from civil war to WW2 reenacting; 50% of the reenactors are MASSIVE fat asses. Ok, I get it, you want to have a great hobby and keep history alive then why dont you keep yourself alive and lay off the brats and beer for a while. It is the singe most visable historical flaw; I doubt any one could weigh 360lbs after marching from the gulf of mexico to pennsylvania on limited supplies.

  • @AIgernon it's that yankee kevlar they always seem to wear, lol (happens at almost every event)

  • seems like they should be running more. i see confederates retreating by just wlaking away from the northern line not 15 feet from them under fire.

  • EPIC!

  • @Messier83 Is it just me, or do I not see any reall big peoploe in this video? Yes there are some... But the majority seem to be skinny.

  • @9thvareenacting Ill see you at the wall mate :) Btw, my Great (Very great) grandfather fought with the 9th Virginia in the Revolutionary war. I have yet to find any confederates in my lineage but believe me, I am looking! I have 2 ancerstors proven Yankees though.

  • age of empire 3 lol

  • The funny part is our group portrays the 9th virginia and they charged over the union defences in one spot with Lewis Armistead... I'm the flag bearer and that is going to be amazing at the big 150

  • @Messier83

I reenact for years and thats the only thing what bothers me and that

are obese reenacters. Back then, nobody was of the middle class was fat

because there was less food to eat and hard labor to do.

  • I was informed in September that I'd have to relocate from Arizona to Northern Virginia, in order to avoid being laid off. While shocked by the news, I felt some comfort (Southern Comfort) in knowing I would fulfill a Bucket-List dream of witnessing the re-creations at Gettysburg in 2012!

  • I'm sure it's fun to be a part of the event and all, but I wouldn't prefer this re-enactment over SCA's wars. In parts of the video you can see people clearly ignoring being mowed down, while of course there are obviously others taking hits reasonably, I assume the side that wins is the one that historically won, without exception? In SCA, Whether with arrows, crossbows, the occasional catapaults, or the obvious mass of various melee weaponry, getting hit is literal. The side that wins, wins :P
