In the states, at 15 years old, I would have given my whole summer job pay check to hear them in concert. The song, Georgy Girl, was 10 times better than the movie. We lost them, but I didn't forget them. Finally got broad band a couple of years ago and could hear and see them, for the first time. To me, they share share equally, with a couple of other groups/lead singers, as the very best. Listen to her voice soar, blend with and wrap around theirs, at the same time. She was a Doll too.

@thunderstruck1 Probably for one of two reasons: 1) Because recording companies and producers don't think there's a market for it; or, 2) They think the kids don't want anything but garbage. And kids don't know this, because all they're ever spoonfed now is high-tech junk passed off as music. And so the beat goes on . . . . unless they listen here.

@sleepypie Sleepypie, it was July, '68, at the Talk Of The Town in London, their farewell performance before breaking up.

@cumomsandcureloms No, they closed it with "The Carnival Is Over" and then "Georgy Girl". I still have it on vinyl. At least, that's the way the music was positioned on my LP.

@carlton683 I believe she has just released two albums and sang in Australia around Christmas. Obviously still a busy lady.

Pleasant memories from a happy childhood in a simpler and much nicer era.
Nice to revisit this decent song by a decent group sung in a decent era.
