Howard F. Rudd, Jr. Business Person of the Year Award -- This year's recipient is Harry T. Harvin III or "Trey" as everyone knows him. Graduating with honors from the College with a degree in business administration in 1992, Trey not only excelled in the classroom, but also on the basketball court as captain of the men's basketball team under Coach John Kresse.
Following graduation, Trey went on to receive his MBA from Georgetown University with graduate studies in international management at Oxford.
His professional career began with SunTrust Bank followed by stints with WorldSpace Corporation, VeriSign Corporation and UgMo, a green technology company dealing with water conservation. In 2007, he and his family moved to Dublin, Ireland where he became CEO of dotMobi, a company pioneering mobile internet applications. The company sells in 130 countries on every continent except Antarctica.
Trey contributes much of his business success around the world to the education he received at the College of Charleston -- both in the classroom and on the basketball court. It was here he learned the value of preparation, to embrace challenges and that leadership is earned through example.
