does the good essay show how smart the writer is?
what makes the essay so poor ?
is somebody wrote an essay without using these rules, will the essay look like bad ??

hi sir!
if the question is "to what extent do you agree or disagree", would it be ok if on the body of the essay, i will discuss both the arguments/sides then on my conclusion, i will sight my side?

Mr. Lewis, I'll be having my exam on Saturday. I must say that I still need to polish my writing skills. Your videos are helping me a lot right now. Thank you!

hi mr.robert..i really need your help..Im going to take my exam this august 22..
... or is it really a must to sight my side or position on the introduction?
what is i dont totally agree or disagree (like half-half)?
another concern, is the question "do you agree or disagree" the same as the question "to what extent do you agree or disagree?"
hope i could hear from u, thank you...

There is no simple answer to your question. In these exams, you may have to answer a number of questions, and not simply present your opinion or one side of an argument. The second part of your posting: "do you agree or disagree" is not the same as "to what extent do you agree". I doubt you'd get such a prompt in an exam. To what extent, you can respond: for, against, or partly, etc. Be prepared for different types of questions.

It depends on your purpose. Well, there are other ways to assess her/his proficiency in English across the four skills: speaking, writing, reading and listening. A lot depends if his/her English ability is good enough for the test. I wouldn't recommend it if s/he is not ready for the test, because you don't get any feedback on what areas your child is having difficulty in. eg. If she performs badly on the writing, why? You only get a Band score and not any information. I hope that helps.
