DEDICATED TO THE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE U.S. MILITARY AND THEIR FAMILIES
"A while back, a soldier in the reserves contacted me while he was stationed on the east coast. He mentioned that he loved my music, and that his wife was also in the military -- except for she was already in Afghanistan fighting. He explained to me how much he missed her and how much he worried about her every day. He asked me if i could write a song to tell their story, as he was certain that there were thousands of other soldiers in a similar situation.
So when writing and composing "Marchin Home," I tried to place myself in the position of a soldier leaving his family and familiar life behind to protect the rest of his country. What would I think about? What would I reflect upon? And what would keep me motivated throughout the fear and chaos of an unknown world?
And this is the story behind "Marchin Home."
Thank you for taking the time to listen.
