change one word.. through the entire song.. although It would be sweet to have it be about me... I'd change the word from "she" to "him"... You understand. One comes across something that just grabs... and I found this. This popped into my mind just now

Smokey, you've been there with me through all the ups and downs. When I was 18 and broke up with my girlfriend and was shook up, Smokey was there with the music, for those bad times to lift me up. Then when I met wife for the first time, Smokey was there with the music that set the mood and got things going again. 12 years later, I'm married with kids, life is good, and Smokey's music reminds me of how far I've come.
@namvet12 Smokey's parents are mixed. Look at him, I mean he doesn't look like he is any more black than white. That is why his uncle named him Smokey because he said it would always remind him that he had black ancestry also. He looks very mixed. Black, White, and Native American. What is the big deal?

For the one that wrote coke head, read his book "Smokey Inside My Life" Smokey Robinson with David Ritz. You'll get a new respect for the man & his God Given Talent and how God saved him to continue on with those gifts. Thank God for what he's shared. A lot of other gifted performers were shared through his gift of song writing as well. He has a great story. Love the musical God given talents.
