@39tommyboy Joe Columbo was the boss of the Columbo Crime Family and same guy that was shot . The other Joe who was kidnapped and later retired to Arizona was Joe Bonanno, who was the boss of the Bonanno Crime Family. So the bosses of the Columbo and Bonanno families had the same first names. You just mixed up what happened to who.

ok im a bit confused. joe columbo was the boss of the columbo crime family. who is this joe columbo that was shot and died later on??? thanks to who ever takes the time to explain this one to me. the first one im talking about i thought retired from the mafia after his kidnapping and attempted murder upon his sons life.salute

They mentioned how the producers DID NOT want Pacino or Brando, but then they didn't mention how both were nominated for Oscars and how the movie would have sucked without them. Robert Evans is an ASS.

Great series, thanks for posting. A personal note: On the day Colombo was shot I was injured in an accident at work and taken to the same hospital, St Mary's. Because of all the confusion and excitement I wasn't seen by a doctor for almost 3 hrs and almost lost the sight in my eye as a result. I lived in Brooklyn and I remembered this movie and the long lines of people waiting to see it.
