get as close to the ground as possible. jumping at the bottom would certainly sever your spine and lead to instantaneous death. so laying down as flat as you could would be your best bet.

If you did manage to jump at the bottom of the lift at the point you jumped you would hit the top of the lift and die so the correct thing to do is not get caught in a falling lift

Jx you cant jump when your falling in a lift because the force of you going down makes the gravity more intense and even if you could jump you'd have to jump faster than the lift is going down
