  • Awesome for you! FL is SO different than IN would encourage you to contact your local agricultural extension agent for tips on gardening in FL. You guys grow really good onions and tomatoes down there. Best wishes to you!

  • There's a book called 'Putting Food By' that you might be interested in.

  • Excellent suggestion. I just finished reading the reviews and I'm ordering a copy off of Amazon. My only resource besides the web is the Ball Blue Book. I could use another source, particularly one that goes into all the reasons behind the methods of food preservation. I was able to get five more quarts of tomato juice and six pints of BBQ sauce today. The BBQ sauce is a little thin, but it's pretty tasty for my first attempt.

  • I meant fall season garden

  • Cool! I look forward to seeing it!

  • Beautiful vegetables! Good luck with the composting.

  • Thank you!

  • How do you know when melons are ready to pick?

  • Nice work man, definitely nice work.

  • I'm glad I checked back here or I would have missed this too. I didn't get an email for your responses. I gardened on a small scale for two years. I've found out what onions work best here. And I did find out on my own tomatoes grow very well. I have more land now that I have my own house and am looking forward to starting my garden this year.

  • It was so neat to see how your garden grew from the start to this point. I'm in Florida and looking forward to starting my veggie garden in the spring.
