U.S. District Judge John D. Bates ruled in a 26-page opinion on Monday that the interior of the memorial is not a public forum where people may dance, even if they are silently boogying to music on headphones.

"The purpose of the memorial is to publicize Thomas Jefferson's legacy, so that critics and supporters alike may contemplate his place in history," Bates wrote. "The Park Service prohibits all demonstrations in the interior of the memorial, in order to maintain 'an atmosphere of calm, tranquillity, and reverence.'"

"Prohibiting demonstrations is a reasonable means of ensuring a tranquil and contemplative mood at the Jefferson Memorial," the judge added.

This is total bullshit and an infringment on our right to express ourselves under the 1st Amendment. Bring your IPODS! Free your mind and your Ass with Follow!

One last thing, just to make everyone aware, this is what happens when a group of twenty citizens celebrate the ideas of Jefferson by silently dancing by his memorial for ten minutes. Arrests.

  • It seems that everybody is taking this video about the dancing when its more just the fact he is trying to put the message out there that they do make stupid laws. Letting them take away the small freedoms is the first step to them taking away more freedoms. They will work their way up taking more and more until you have no freedoms left. What a great place this will be when we cannot be free.

  • They should of kept dancing in handcuffs it would of been epic

  • well... you idiot, you asked for it.

"we're not gonna create any disturbance"

    You DID.

  • You asked for it. Good job. You got famous and made yourself look like an idiot.

  • @InkySunshine No. Thanks for trying to put a Tremendous amount of words in my mouth. What i was saying is that a lot of countries DONT have the SAME rights as we do in the US. Plain out. I never said other countries don't deserve the same right and freedoms as we do. I dress myself in the morning in the world's proudest uniform, the US Military. Yes i have been to war and i have seen in action the lack of rights or freedom that other countries dont have.

  • @neoplasmax

spot on u would believe how many people from auz all have become awakened to know the truth about these event.

  • @froobcakes

its starting to become more and more rapid the new terrist will now be the us, anyone of from any country who does not comform to their law.

  • @BadSwineDOTcom "slamming".... also, good job for asking to get arrested, and I don't even care for the cops either way, so hah for letting human laws to take yea down.

  • You conspiracy nuts are a trip...and it's just a coincidence that you also favor legalizing drugs lol.

  • @cmiller524 Don't wanna get to deep into this because it's starts a whole mess. Admitting is really not a problem when you are told to. We can get just about anyone to admit to anything with waterboarding these days. And if it was a grand coverup, which it probably was, it's easy to have him do that. But then 10 years to find the guy? He was already dead, created to be a ghost to the American public, or is still alive. The easiest point to look at is the Pentagon or building 7.

  • @DarthVil There needs to be an end to politicians or anyone else, always making an appeal to exceptional circumstances. The idea that someone does not qualify for due process, because they are a "terrorist," (particularly given that that term is applied completely arbitrarily; it now has no fixed definition) or whatever else.

If the law is not the same for everyone, then there will be no law at all.
