@mollymoonthorn i agree, but covers don't have to be played exactly like the original. most, if not all of my covers are played faster than the original, often by design. First, I like playing fast. second, I think playing faster helps cover up the fact there is not much going on (or helps make it sound like there is more to the cover than two mallets hitting one note at a time). finally, and this might just be me...

@mollymoonthorn but pop songs, with their verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-verse-chorus (or I-IV-V-I, if you get my meaning) get boring about 1 minute in, so I just blast through. Probably doesn't give the song proper respect, I admit.
