Just out of curiosity, did the tea party even get threatened by police? Why is it more important to defend gun rights than trying to stop bankers paying politicians and robbing our tax dollars. Isn't the tea party against higher taxes, so shouldn't you be for them because we could lower taxes if the banks didn't need the money??

The difference is the Tea Party had events that lasted a couple hours that drew quite a few people and OWS had events where they ended up squatting on public and private land for weeks on end. Look at ANY town charter and most have official curfew by-laws for public spaces. Protests and rallies need to be planned and organized with the city to ensure municipal co-operation and the like (blocking roads, etc)... OWS did none of that. They shot themselves in the foot bigtime with their 'camps' imo

@Wotanraven I'd ask "what liberal media", but I live in the United States where the closest thing to "liberal media" that I've seen on TV is a handful of hours on MSNBC at night.

The US media is corporate & FAR, FAR right. Hence, Bush was a "hero" when he sat with his thumb up his ass on 9.11 and did NOTHING to get OBL (no scandal there), whereas Bill Clinton was involved in the "most serious scandal of the last 40 years" - getting a blowjob - that consumed the US media for 2 years 24/7.
